Abhishek Vedavalli
Overview
Abhishek Vedavalli, MD, MPH, was born in Hyderabad, India. He completed medical school in Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad, India. After he graduated he moved to the United States to pursue more training. Abhishek graduated from the University of North Texas with a masters in public health in 2006. He then did his internal medicine training and chief residency at the University at Buffalo, NY. After completing his residency, Abhishek moved to Chicago and completed his fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Cook County Hospital, Chicago, IL. Abhishek started his work life in Austin, TX in 2013. Critical care medicine is Dr. Abhishek's passion. After COVID-19, he wanted to get more experience from different health systems across US. Therefore, he decided to become a locums physician. Abhishek's wife Veena Reddy MD, is a family medicine physician. They have two children — a son who is nine, and a daughter who is three. His hobbies are cooking and home improvement. He enjoys being an active parent. On the days when he isn't working in the hospital, he chooses to be a stay-at-home husband and dad.
